Autism Awareness Walk- Doko Meadows

Autism Awareness Walk

On Saturday, April 1st, 2017 students across Blythewood will be hosting a walk at Doko Meadows in Blythewood to raise awareness about individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Students and teachers from Langford Elementary, Blythewood Middle, Muller Road Middle, and Ridgeview High school have been working since January to brainstorm, collaborate, and organize this walk. Students have worked to ensure this walk is family friendly. Below is a link to our registration website and our schedule of events, as we are trying to raise money for the Autism Society of South Carolina. A donation is not mandatory, but appreciated.
We look forward to seeing the community on April 1st!

8:30-9:00 Registration
9:00-10:00 Welcome and Walk
10:00-11:30 Family Activities (music, games, sports, face painting, and light snacks).

Fireflies Reading Program

Our school is participating in the Columbia Fireflies Reading Program.  Your child will have the opportunity to improve his or her reading skills while earning a surprise gift and a ticket to a Fireflies baseball game.  Your child will also receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips, and drink to enjoy during the game.

When your child has completed the reading goal of four age appropriate books, send signed form to your teacher to receive your ticket order form.  Please e-mail Ms. Dieguez if you have any questions at mdieguez@richland2.org

Richland Two Film Festival at Spring Valley High School March 23, 2017 6:00-8:00pm

We had such incredible participation this year, with over 90 submissions.  All students who submitted a video are invited to be at Spring Valley to show their creative work.  For the first 30 minutes, attendees can browse the student's work using QR codes and their cell phone.  At 6:30 we will move into the auditorium where we will showcase the top 3 videos in each category and present the winners with their award.  All faculty and staff across the district are invited to see our student's amazing work.
