Blowfish Reading Program!

Click here for the Blowfish Season Schedule
The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Club is starting the 2015 Blowfish Reading Rewards Program with the goal to provide students in the Midlands, and surrounding communities, with encouragement to become better students and better citizens through reading. The Blowfish provide students with the opportunity to earn a complimentary ticket to a designated Blowfish game and other prizes as a fun incentive to read and improve study habits.

Langford students have the opportunity to participate in this year's program and become a Reading Super Hero. All students were given a BlowFish bookmark and reading log. They have been challenged to read Four grade appropriate books from now April 27- May 21. When students "hit a homerun" on their reading log, they will receive the following prizes: free admission to the JULY 10 ballgame, 1 free hotdog, and 1 free Coca-Cola.

***The school with the highest participation rate receives $500 for new library books and will be recognized on field before their designated game.***

The July 10 ballgame is designated as Super Hero Night!
Dress as your favorite Super Hero and be entered for fun prizes and games. There will  also be a Firework Show after the game.

Principal's Thoughts

Principal’s Thoughts

WOW, What an amazing week! Our Labs gave their Best “EFFORT” academically and behaviorally all week.
The PTO Spring Concert was amazing! It was such a pleasure to watch our children perform.  Each year they seem to get better and better. The Langford Singers and the Doghouse Jammers entertained us in a big way! Our Langford Labs are so talented! Thank you to all our children, and especially to Mrs. Hipps for a fantastic performance! All of your hard work really paid off.
Labfest is today! We will have games, bounce houses, prizes, food and fun. Our very own Dog House Jammers Steel Drum Band will be performing, and do not forget the dunking booth! Make sure you come out, have some fun and support our PTO!
This week we celebrated Earth Day. Our students, faculty and staff all wore green to celebrate this day and were all involved in a variety of activities that discussed the importance of Earth Day and taking care of the environment. Please take a moment to discuss the importance of taking care of the earth.
With the warm weather approaching, we know that our students are gearing up for summer and are excited about wearing their summer clothes. Our young labs are growing so fast that they have out grown many of the things they could wear last season. Please keep our student dress code in mind when sending students to school.
We are approaching our ACT Aspire and SCPASS Testing dates for 3rd-5th graders. Students will be assessed in the areas of Writing, ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science. It is important to make sure your child has a good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and is on time during testing days. I know our students are ready and prepared to show their best EFFORT on the ACT Aspire SCPASS test.  Testing begins on Tuesday, April 28th

Month of the Military Child

April is Month of the Military Child. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, there are 1.88 million military children (active duty and reserve-component). Of this number, 863,817 are between the ages of birth to eleven years old.  Langford is home to a large number of these brave, young children. We would like to say a special "We love you and Support You" to military children around the world by wearing PURPLE on Wednesday, April 15! #KidsServeToo #PurpleUp
