- There is no obligation for those students who select to eat breakfast/lunch.

SOAR: Summer Opportunity for Academic Readiness
Please note SOAR is separate from the Read to Succeed Summer Reading Camp offered by the district each summer. This is separate from the traditional summer school for middle and high school students who need summer school to be promoted to the next grade. Students cannot participate in both. SOAR is separate from Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) Services that is offered each summer. Some Special Education students will have the option of attending both SOAR and ESY.
At the elementary level, instruction will focus on English/language arts and mathematics and possibly additional enrichment opportunities.
To learn more about SOAR and how to register, click here.
If you’re interested, log into your Parent Portal account between March 22-March 31 and indicate:
you want your child to participate
if you will need transportation.
We salute our AP's!
National Assistant Principals Week is April 5-9.
We decided to celebrate our two APs just a little early!
Thank you
Mr. Patrick Newton & Mrs. Charae'a Johnson.

Phase 3 Updates
Phase 3 Updates
We are making modifications to Phase 3 based on the latest CDC Operational Strategy for K-12 Schools.
Elementary Learning Model Options
In-person Instruction: Students come to school five days a week (½ day on Fridays). For the most part, students are organized in classroom communities similar to Phase 2 with one change — students may leave the classroom for related arts and specialized classes (e.g. speech, ALERT, ESOL, etc.). The implementation of this change may vary from school to school due to individual circumstances such as class sizes and/or room sizes.
eLearning: Schools will continue to provide eLearning for the remainder of the 2020–2021 school year.
At all levels, some classes may be taught using the dual-modality approach for delivering instruction, which means the class will include eLearning students and in-person students. Other classes may include only eLearning students or only in-person students. This will vary by school depending on the number of students participating in eLearning.
Due to the additional planning time required for dual-modality instruction, Fridays will be half-days for elementary, middle, and high school students.

In-Person Instruction Resumes January 19
in-person instruction resumes January 19
We will resume in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. Our daily schedule will closely resemble a typical school day for both eLearning and in-person students. The instructional day will be 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM. We will continue to have a staggered start and end time to ensure we are practicing social distancing while keeping all students and staff personnel as safe as possible. In order to create the safest conditions imaginable while remaining operationally efficient, we are asking for everyone's patience and understanding during arrival and dismissal times.
Arrival: Bus riders will drop off at 7:30 AM and car riders at 7:50 AM.
Dismissal: Bus riders will be picked up at 2:40 PM and car riders at 2:50 PM.
In-person students will remain in CLASSROOM COMMUNITIES.
a few reminders for our in-person students
- Students are expected to report to school five days a week and will be organized in classroom communities with each Friday being a half-day (dismissal at 11:30 am).
- Each classroom community stays together primarily in one location during the school day, including meals and most related arts classes.
- Students will get recess, weather permitting.
- Face coverings are required for all students.
- We will practice social distancing to the greatest extent possible. In classroom seating arrangements where 6 feet of social distancing is not possible or optimal, we will use barriers/dividers.
- Students attending in-person will have opportunities for a mask break (while students participating in eLearning will have opportunities to take a break away from the computer screen).
- Students will need to bring water bottles and earbuds/earphones.
