Principal's Thoughts

September is Attendance Awareness Month.  Parents and Families are essential partners in promoting good attendance.  Why? Because you are the ones who make certain that your child(ren) get to school every day.  You set expectations for good attendance and monitor absences so that missed days don’t add up to academic trouble.  Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school and themselves. Start building good habit in preschool so students learn right away that going to school on time every day is important. Good attendance will help children do well in high school, college, and at work.

Here are a few helpful strategies:
  • Set a regular bed time and morning routine.
  • Lay out clothes and pack backpacks the night before.
  • Don’t let your child stay home unless she is truly sick. Keep in mind complaints of a stomach ache or headache can be a sign of anxiety and not a reason to stay home. If our child seems anxious about going to school, talk to teachers, school counselors, or other parents for advice on how to make her feel comfortable and excited about learning.
  • Develop back-up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent.
  • Avoid medical appointments and extended trips when school is in session. attendanceworks.org

AdvancED Parent Survey

Dear Parent/Guardian,
This year, Richland School District Two is participating in the AdvancED Accreditation process. As part of this process, parents are asked to complete a survey. The purpose of this survey is to find out your opinions about your child's school. The survey also allows the district to learn more about parent expectations for our schools.
Please click here to complete the survey or click on the parent survey link at the top of the Richland Two home page at www.richland2.org. We ask that you complete the survey as soon as possible. Your cooperation and support in completing the parent survey is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Principal's Thoughts

Thank you to all our families who came to Open House Thursday night! It was great to see such a large group of parents in support of our school.  It sends a positive message to our students that we are all working together as a team to ensure their success.  We hope everyone enjoyed their experience at Langford and have a better understanding of how we engage our students every day.

Labor Day is annually held on the first Monday of September. For many of us it signals the start of football season, the end of the summer season and our last chance to make trips or hang out at the lake. Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States it gives workers a day of rest and celebrates their contribution to the American economy.  Make sure you enjoy the Labor Day weekend with family, friends, and loved ones.  Have some fun and get a little rest and relaxation.  You‘ve earned it!
